valve removal from 461 head

Once the valve spring is removed, how do you remove the valve from the head? Seems like I should just be able to pull it right out but it'll won't go all of the way. What's holding it? Thanks -- Bill

Valve stem tip is mushroomed by the wear from the rocker arm. File the edge with a 6" mill bastard and it will fall out.
