VDC doors?

Has anyone ever done or thought about putting Lambo / VDC (Vertical door) style door hinges on a C3 corvette. I don't think I would actually go through with doing it, but I was just wondering if anyone has even seen a C3 with a mod like this?

For what it's worth, I think it's a good idea. although I'm not sure there would be enough clearence for the door to slide up past the roof support pillars, but you would be amazed at what a motivated man with a plasma cutter and a Mig welder can do.

I'll keep my eye out for one.

I actually wanted (kinda still do) to do this...... did alot of research.... one company said they could make it work...... have to give them my car for a few weeks and would be extreme in costs...... nope...... first cant not have my baby that long, and second, i like to be in on every bolt turned on her.

that company sells all the hinges to make a custom style door..... i dont think itd be too hard.... some pretty decent internal mods to the door itself....... but the the curve of the rear of the door seems as though it could be done fairly easy...... it might be a winter project =)
