Velcroed in my plate cover

Decided to put the plate cover back on (even though you need a front plate in TX, they don't seem to bother you in the DFW area...). I used industrial strength Velcro, but I wasn't sure where to put it. So I put a 6-7 inch strip between the two screw holes and it seems to hold ok, but does seem a bit easy to take off. Anyone else done this? If so where is your Velcro?

Be carefull with the velcro. I've picked up more than one cover off the street, when they fell off and got run over.

I can tell you what I did.

I took the cover and turned the two holes into slots. I then took the screwes and ran them into the bumper about 3/4 of the way in. I then take the cover and insert the top and lift the bottom over the screws. The slots fall in behind the screws and hold the cover. I also have a clear cover that is painted and if I get pulled over I just say I was just at a car show and forgot to swap out the covers.

You are lucky! I've been pulled over three times and, in two of the three times, my wife was in the car. EAch time, she got onto me about putting on a front tag (Texas requires it). The discussion was ended when she got pulled over and GOT A TICKET (the cop was a jerk). Anyway, I am now legal with a clear cover plate (and hate it).
