Vent Ball Replacement

Can anyone shed so light as to the best way to get the drivers side vent ball replaced. The passenger side dash panal was easy to remove. The drivers side has alot of wires and stuff and does not seem to want to move much after I loosened the screws. I just need to get it away from its mounting place JUST enough to get in and replace the air vent ball.
