.....on the two latest modifications.

#1. A minor change to allow for separate control of the two Spal electric radiator fans:

This is a worthwhile change. The most immediate effect is the lowering of amperage draw on the system while driving, especially with a foot on the brake, both fans spinning away, and the headlights on. That situation always led to a discharge report on the ammeter.

Now, by running only one fan (except in extremely hot weather), the ammeter rarely shows discharge, and one fan is resting up for its turn. By alternating the left - right fans each trip, I should be able to double their useful life.

#2. A major change to the midyear radio........covered in another thread:

After several test runs, I can report that it is possible to hear the radio over the 502 with side headers, but I'm not sure if it's Mick Jagger or Celine Dion wailing in the background.

I suppose it would help to remove my earplugs, and turn the radio up louder, but then hearing through the blood running out of my eardrums isn't good either. :crazy

Oh well, I can always listen in during the pitstops. ;LOL

So what did you add to make the fans run separately.. A Spal "PWM" unit ..or just the old fasion Toggle switch deal..or something else.??

This isn't a story for Cruiesfest....Your supposed to share your Superior Knowledge with us pe-on's.:L Besides you always tell me to post info when I PM you..

Also I am running a Power Master 140 Amp Alternator..(It's Chrome Too and Looks Nice)..:D and have no issues with negitive movement of the Alternator with the whole she bang running.:ugh

Okay, Mr. Pe-on. This here setup ain't no "old-fashion" Toggle switch deal. It's a "New-Fashioned" Toggle Switch installation.

Same idea......just newer. :rotfl

The toggles light up green when the switches are on, but on a sunny day, in my "I'm-too-cool" sunglasses :cool , I can't see the damn green lights anyway, down there below my knees.

So, earplugs, sun glasses and a smirk. All's I need now is a hat with a propeller and I'm good to go. :J

Aaayaa...there you go.

...is that the old fashioned sunglasses and smirk..or is it the new fashion " 'yo what's happnin' smirk and glasses" ? I'm havin' a hard time with the new fashions...I can't figure how to turn my beanie sideways or backwards....I guess that's why people look at me funny...heh heh!

Ok... I get it now.... So..you have to remember to ..turn thses switches on and off in different configurations.. 1 fan ..2 fans... no fans.... as well as.... shift...steer ..operate the turn signals....Turn the head lights on and off... as well as operate the radio.....:L

What happens if you forget to turn the fans on.....:L Your gonna need a switch that operates a voice recording to remind you to run them..

Ok...I'm done here....:D

What happens when the cellular rings? You steer with what? ;) :rotfl

I thought about that on the way into the city today. I realized I'd never hear it anyway, so I'll switch it to vibrate and place it on the seat between my legs. Then, I'll "feel" it when someone wants me. I'll check for messages when I pull into the pits.

As if driving this car wasn't already a party. :naughty:

Actually it is probably a scream of terror from mothers trying to get their kids inside to protect them from the rolling thunder when you cruise down the street!!! :cool

Why I think I qualify for a Pilot's License

This is the story of why I should qualify for a pilot's license. We all know they run down the checklists, right? Here's my checklist every time I decide to take Heaven for a spin.

01. Approach garage with reverence.
02. Unlock two locks on man-door.
03. Open door.
04. Punch in alarm code before all Hell breaks loose.
05. Unlock several heavy-duty locks securing overhead door.
06. Re-connect battery.
07. Close hood.
08. Activate several hidden hot switches.
09. Prime carb with electric fuel pump.
10. Engage reverse gear.
11. Turn on manual backup light switch.
12. Pump accelerator twice.
13. Fire engine.
14. Fight with choke for a few seconds to keep the 502 running.
15. Shut down engine, and go into house for a snack.
16. Okay.....I'm back.
17. Put on seatbelt.
18. Put on sun glasses.
19. Insert earplugs.
20. Fire engine again.
21. Turn on one radiator fan.
22. Turn on radio (must be left off during start according to manufacturer).
23. Hit overhead door remote.
24. Carefully back out of garage and on to street.
25. Close overhead door.
26. Turn off backup light switch.
27. Engage 1st gear.

So, thank God* I'm finally moving forward. Now, to adopt my "look" for the benefit of the public. :cool

For the rest of the adventure, scan all gauges nervously.....in case; keep a watchful eye on the rear-view mirror for Smokey; respond to waves and thumbs up; etc.

It ain't easy. :crazy

The only things missing are running through the check list and filing a flight plan.
