I sold my Vette to a gentlemen that gave me a good down payment and even put my name on the title as lien holder. Now he is in financial problems and is not able to make payments. I have the car in my posession and I have the title. Does anyone know just how to go about getting the title changed back into my name, without going to a lawyer.

If you are on good terms with the gentlemen, I think you should be able to just have a title transfer completed at your DMV, county clerk, or tax office.

He probably wants to end things without a lawyer too. He'll most likely cooperate with you if he knows it will be resolved without lawyers of his credit!

I'm not completely up with the currant law in Florida, but we used to fill out a Certificate of Repossession at the DMV,Pay a Title fee and then they would take care of it!;shrugThats still the way we do it in NC!!:thumb

Maybe his problem is short term and he wants the vette again.
Ask him. Then, you could "hold it" for him, for a while.
Will not hurt to ask him, will it?
Sometimes, a short brake in the action of life allows for a regroup of life and he will rebound. Maybe!
