You may want to research the flywheel replacement, lots of guys report greatly increased noise from the ZF 6 speed after replacing the stock dual mass unit. Hib Halvorson made a post concerning a machining procedure that can restore the original I believe, try doing a search to locate it.
What kind of seats do you need, standard or sport, and what color? I will have a set of standard ones for a 93 in lt. beige that are very good in about a month, I just ordered a custom set from Al Knoch.

I think your flywheel may need rebalancing to match the original balance of the dual mass flywheel.

The prices quoted are very close to cost. Your buddy was not trying to rip you off I don't think.

I would contact the manufacturer of the flywheel and check with them.

I replaced the clutch and flywheel with the dual mass setup.
I couldn't be happier. As long as I had the car I had gear rattle at idle. That is totally gone now. I was amazed how much the old clutch and flywheel vibrated after I replaced it. It did have a dual mass in it.

I bought a clutch kit with bearings for just under $300 and the dual mass flywheel for just under $700.
The L98 is external balanced the flywheel comes with weights to match to the old flywheel.

Little side note. Just to show how heavy the dual mass flywheel and clutch is, a six speed car weighs in about 50 lbs heavier than an auto. According to the data sheets.
