I looked at the model center for my codes but my interior code doesnt make sense. here is everything off the the car since the only thing that does make sense is that the car was originally a white one

1G1AY8785C5117886

here is how the trim plate appears

C O6D 117886
64I 10L 10U E
chevrolet

according to the model center codes I should have 64L or 642 for leather and there is no 64I listed or has this trim tag been changed at some point, I dont have a digital camera so posting pics isnt easy, but this plate on the car is perfectly flat and shiny does this sound like a original one.

642 would be camel leather while 64C would be camel cloth. The black book does not show a 64L. Have a sneeking suspesion that the cloth interiors did not show the C sine they are only two digits whild the leather is three digits. So 64I could be 64 Interior Trim. 10U and 10L is white upper and white lower.

I would say the car should be white with camel cloth interior.

I also forgot to mention the car had a vinyl interior when we purchased the car, also the door panels were vinyl too, was vinyl ever a feature found on these cars at all or did at some poit did a previous owner probably just put in that imitation leather

On 82's, the leather trim codes that end with "2" also frequently end with an "I" instead (per the NCRS Spec Guide), so your car apparently was born with trim code 64I, same as 642, which was camel leather (which explains the camel vinyl on the door trim panels, as leather was only on the seats- leather-look vinyl was used on the door trim panels ).

You beat me to it, John. I also have the 64I - Camel. I also found out when I had a side bolster rip repaired that the seats are not all leather. The seat inserts are leather but the side bolsters are vinyl. Only the Collectors Edition had full leather seats.
