is there anyway to defeat the auto volume on the radio don't need the volume going up every time i put my foot in it and turning it off is not an option.

My cars back in NC, but I'm almost positive there is a control to increase the volume w/speed or decrease it altogher. It may be an outer ring on the volume knob. Look in the owners manual it should have it there.

yes it is the outer ring on the volume control.

The outer ring on the volume knob is what controls the auto feature. If it is all the way up (clockwise) it will be at full auto and it will get loud when you punch it. If you turn it down (counterclockwise) it will turn the auto feature off and you will notice that you’ll have to turn the volume up louder to hear it.
