I am soliciting for a close friend who would like to buy his first Corvette.
Here is his desired features. I have tried to steer him to a more collectable version but he is adamant about the features. He knows what he wants;
68 to 72 vintage
Automatic, PS, PB, AC
Red in color

Unyielding features - 68 - 72 Convertable Automatic Only.
The other desired features are negotiable.
Color being the least important. except Blk & Green
If you have or know of someone selling their chrome bumpered auto - vert, I have a match for you/them. (his wife's x-mas present)
Contact me off line at crandles@cox.net or my cell 252.327-8648
Thanks, Clint

There's a blue one listed in eBay with a relatively low Buy it Now opiton. Check it out at: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1972-Corvette-Convertible-350-match-numbers-nice_W0QQitemZ4587562098QQcategoryZ6168QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I am NOT affiliated with the seller or anything -- I just happened to see the listing.

Thank you very much for the tip!
That is one of the best buy for the dollar I have seen yet.

Glad to help! It appeared to be a good deal. Hope to hear more about that 72 chrome bumpered beauty here on CAC.

I just spoke to the former owner of this vehicle tonight, he also has a 1968 I am looking at. He is a very nice guy, I can not wait to hear back on how this car is. The new owner is supposed to pick the vehicle up tonight.

My friend called me from the residence in MA a little disheartened. It seams the add failed to disclose that the interior was died Black from it's original Blue. The paint job was original color, but it was over a Grey color that was over the original color. There were area's in the jambs thatwere the secondary grey. The motor numbers matched, but owner could not verify transmission to match.
The car is on a trailer and on it's way back to North Carolina. I haven't spoke to Randy this morning to see if the owner would work with him on the items that were not disclosed in the add.
I will have more in short order on this once the car is here and I can properly appraise it. I still believe it to be of value. Randy did verify it was a clean frame and unhit body.
More to come.
Clint

Please let me know how you make out. When I spoke with him about the other car he seemed very honest & upfront, I wonder what he DIDN'T tell me now?

72 vert purchase

Just talked with Randy. He said he looked the 68 over as well and was glade this wasn't the one he was interested in. Keep in mind, this is his first Vette and also his expectations were very high.
The owner did come off the price $500 in consideration of the interior, failure to disclose.
The 68 has a lot of broken fiberglass. Upper front pannel around the HL opening has rivets coming through the glass. I would ask about any broken / damaged pannels. I'm at a dissadvantage, I haven't seen the add. Can you forward me the # of it. aycrandl@yale.com
I don't know when the add expires, but you could talk to Randy on the road coming home if urgent or at home tomorrow (Saturday the 12th).
The latter might be worth while for you.
Clint
