Wanted: Early 59 283 complete engine

I am looking for either a late 1958 or early 1959 283 engine for my 1959 Vette. Any help or direction to a good source would be appreciated. I am located in NY.

Good luck on your search. I have been looking at block stampings for years and have never found one close to my '59 #881. I won't restamp so a real CU suffix is all I will consider. Once in a while a real Corvette block pops up so you just might get lucky and find what you are looking for.

Finding a complete, genuine Corvette engine with plausible date codes (otherwise why bother) is less likely than finding a needle in a haystack. Might be better strategy to look for correct individual components and build your own.
