Dear Friends of Callaway Cars,
I have been trying to write a book on competition Callaway's for several years now. I have a large amount of info and pics, but I lack good pics of the LM (static and on the track, not in the museum) and C7R's the same. I know that there are good pics from the AZ auction, but they are copywrited. I cannot afford to pay for pics, but a helping of free books someday ( maybe summer 2005) for any assistance can be offered. Likewise, if anyone cares to be a contributor, I am open to any additional information, pics, stories etc..contact me offline by email....I have been a Callaway nut for 15 years and have been on the sidelines compiling pics and articles and memrobilia for as many years. I have extensive photographic stores on the C7R development and construction as well as the C12R. I have many LM photos of the chassis, but not on the track. I even went to Le Mans in 2001 for photos. My greatest desire is to create a table-top vivid color book with large photos and lots of information, but it is a large project and I am only able to work a few hours a week on it. At this time several folks have stepped up with assistance, but these areas are lacking...Just to throw spice in the mix, I have completed the master buck for a C7R in 1:18 scale (the chassis of a Shelby roadster was the basis) and the nose of the LM in same scale to be combined with the Auto Art C12 converted into a C12R. I plan to offer a set of Callaway Competition "C" Cars as a set with the introduction of the book in a limited amount. Maybe 100 or less hand numbered. We all know where the first one will go!....I have been impressed with the family atmosphere that this forum exibits, you are a very nice group. Thanx for your consideration..mike
