Can somebody tell me te best way to build a 350+hp motor.Should i use my old block? Buy a new one? What pistons, heads, cam, lifters, intake, carb. should i go with. I want it so it will still fit under the hood. Im buying a hi-rise hood. 4inches. All & any info. would b greatly appreciated. Ive been out of the "game" for a while. So i need everyones help!:cool!: Thank you fellow vette owners:happyanim:

Purchase one or two of the how-to-hot rod-your-smallblock-Chevrolet books and see what the authors recommend. All of these books discuss blocks, cams, cranks, rods, induction, etc. After a little reading, you can make your own determination as to the direction you want to go.

Hold up on the purchase of the high rise hood until after you have decided what you're going to build. No sense buying a hood you may not need. The optional Corvette 350hp smallblocks 68-70 fit under the stock hood.

I do a ton of work for WORLD. ON other forums I post as John@BMP. If you want a specific build, to a specific HP number, we have over 10,000 engines we built and I can give you a spec on that to get you to your number. I just don't have it at my fingertips right how.

Here's our site: World Products / Bill Mitchell Hardcore Racing products, High Performance and Racing Engines, Short Blocks, Engine Blocks, Cylinder Heads, Intake Manifolds, and Parts for Street, Strip, or Circle Track or World Products / Bill Mitchell Hardcore Racing products, High Performance and Racing Engines, Short Blocks, Engine Blocks, Cylinder Heads, Intake Manifolds, and Parts for Street, Strip, or Circle Track My email is john@theengineshop.com

You don't need a block.

You need heads, intake, cam, carb. 350-400 HP is a fairly mild goal. Hit me on email I'll get you a spec to get to your specific HP.

If you're going to spend some money, like it sounds, I'd spring for a rotating assembly and bore/stroke it as big as it would go..:D
