With all the talk about paddle shifters on the Z06, I thought I would weigh in on this. I had the opportunity to drive a 2002 Modena with the F1 transmission last weekend and DON'T sign me up (for the transmission, that is!). Shift quality is ridiculous (alternately banging home shifts or taking what seems like an eternity to select the next gear) and the low speed drivability (going over speed bumps etc..) is as jerky as a 15 year old driving their first manual. This slow throttle on/off driving seems to to fake out the computer (and then the clutch). It IS fun to act like Michael S., and the 360 is stupid beautifull, but living with the system (atleast the one used by Ferrari) would tax patience to the breaking point. The system developed by Audi seems to be the more elegant solution (according to the press), maybe a test drive of a TT3.2 with it is in order!
