I took the round black "buttons" off the back window of my 85 coupe to repaint them as they have faded over the years. Now I notice when it rains water is dripping into the car from the 4 studs that are part of the "buttons". Any ideas of how to make a tight seal? Im afraid to tighten too tight as to crack the window.

i made new ones for mine and i just used some clear sealant on them never leaked since i put them on heres a pic dont mind the art work

:welcome..... You can use sealent or purchase the thin rubber gaskets that came on the car originally.

There were no rubber gaskets when I took it off. Do you have any idea where I can purchase these gaskets?

Save yourself some time; simply remove one, smear a little black silicone on the mounting surface, tighten down, and clean 'er up. Guaranteed...........no leaks!

I would do as compy suggests as I bought mine about 10 years ago. Did a quick search and cannot locate them anywhere..
