Thanks very much for the helpful links about the headlamp motor bushings, now I know what I'm doing between games on the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Now I'm thinking of tackling the water pump replacement! Any links for helpful advice much appreciated. Is there one water pump better than the others? Is there a standard pump that I should put in my '90? I live in Florida so it can get pretty warm and stays "nice" most of the year. I've seen pumps at auto part stores from $35 to $112 - and helpful links much appreciated!

Get a quality pump so you only have to do it once....Sumitt Racing has a NEW GM HIGH PERFORMACE brand pump for 185.00 Yea its a little more money but all of the parts from GM HIGH PERFORMANCE are quality items and you get a lot better heavy duty pump with heavy duty bearing....

Why are you replacing the pump. It does not need to be replaced unless it is leaking. I've seen a lot of pumps replaced unnecessarily.

Good luck,

Good luck,

Yes, it makes an awful racket when it's going out, and there will be coolant coming from the weep hole.

I would also encourage you to go with a higher-end pump BUT something I've learned from replacing the pump on my 90 roadster (STILL in process, btw) is that hoses are hard to find. Upper and Lower radiator hoses can be gotten anywhere, but the other molded hoses are discontinued by Chevrolet and the aftermarket hasn't had time to produce them yet. I finally found County Corvette in Westchester PA was able to get them for me. Actually, the last of six should be in this week. Hope this helps. Admins, have I gone over the line here?

Yes AirBus you have gone beserk and run amok. Turn in your Corvette drivers license to the proper authorities and have your car shipped directly to me. Please include a signed certificate of ownership.
