We are trying to remove the water pump my 1987 vette and we are stuck at the point of not being able to remove the air conditioning bracket to allow the water pump to come off. Would any one have any sugguestions besides the 12 oz silver cans my friend has opened?

Thanks
Rick

Good article!

(looks like I got the same treatment over there, as multiple paragraphs in articles - BOTH GOT BANNED!!! )

One part DOES give me pause:
Now, using your trusty chisel and hammer, ...
CROWBAR; not chisel! :L

In the article about how to change the water pump the author mentions using care not to lose the o rings for the fuel line connectors. It would be assumed that you would then have them to reuse. I can not strongly recommend you do not reuse fuel line o rings. Briefly my reasoning is this. I did and they did not leak at first but one day my car started to run badly and I limped home about a mile and pulled into the garage. When I got out of the car I saw a wet path coming down the street and into my garage and then I saw heavy smoke rolling from under the hood at the windshield. I opened the hood and found that the smoke was coming from the back of the engine. About this time I realized I was smelling gas. I looked at the engine and it was covered in gas. I mean it was standing in pools on the heads and intake manifold. After i repaired the o rings with new ones I turned on the key and discovered in the breif period I ran the car after it started to run badly it had pumped 1/4 of a tank of gas onto the engine. I went to a bearing house with one of the old o rings and they matched it up with the right size I bought a bag of 50 o rings for less than $5.00. For that price it is the cheapest thing you can do to protect yor car from burning up.
