Help! waterpump

I wonder what is the different with a short sb waterpump and a corvette
I have a C3 sb 350
Can I use a short pump if not somebody know why

I believe the difference is the shaft diameter and possibly hub/fan mounting pad subtleties. Go with the stock pump to avoid these issues.
