How long can you let a car sit in the sun with dried water spots and still get them out?

I would like to drive my vette more than I do, but when rain is in the forecast lately, I avoid it as I don't feel like washing the car afterword to remove the water spots, which are apparant on black paint and with this acidic rain.

I can't seem to get some old waterspots out of the hood, so I know there is a point when you are in trouble.

They always say "as soon as possible" because it depends upon a bunch of factors.

- Protection on the paint
- Acid in the rain
- Amount of rain
- Amount of sun
- Condition of the paint
- Color of the paint
- etc. etc. etc.

If you want to drive your car, I would say "drive it". Don't worry about the rain. All you can do is do the best job you can at protecting the paint.

Life's a "crap shoot". Take the chance.

I don't see why a Vette is any different than other cars?
Painted the same, treat them the same should be fine.

It's a car go have fun. Not worth worring so much just takes the fun out of owning it !

You're right about the fun. But I love the way the Black finish looks when it's clean, so that is a consideration.
