Help!

I have installed all new weatherstripping on my (1981 T-Top) and I am having trouble getting the windows to close correctly.

The window hits the front pillar post too soon?

Any help would by appreciated.

Thanks P38

I know there are some adjustments you can make to the window, my corvette assmbley manual gives the correct adjustments. However, I to still have the same problem. I can get mine up to about an inch then the motor stops. I have to open the door to finish rolling them up.

Try using some dielectric grease (Silicone). The same stuff you use for spark plugs. It is clear and will help the window to slide against the new rubber.

Weather Stripping

Thanks for both of your help.

Let me explain a little better.
When I close the driver side door, with the window rolled all the way up, about 2" to 3" from the bottom of the pillar post the glass hits the new weatherstripping and folds over. Not letting the glass into the grove of the weather stripping.

What manual are you using for the adjustments and are they made with the interior of the door off?

I have used silicone, also!!
Thanks again.

Here's a link to a site that has side window adjusment info. I haven't tried using the info here yet but it looks pretty good to me.

There's an excellent illustrated step-by-step window adjustment procedure in the "Corvette Body" section of the GM Chassis Service Manual.
