ok so i set off this weekend with the gf to go to the family lake house. the forcast for the weekend was scattered rain. i left my house with the top off and there was not a cloud in the sky. i get about 20 minutes from home and i start to see rain clouds, the kind where you can see the rain falling in the distance. i was surprised how fast the clouds appeared to be moving. i got stuck at a stop light and said i hope this is a short light that rain seems to be comming fast. about a quarter mile ahead the road banked away from the apparent path of the rain. we gunned it off the line and not 100 yards away i could see the rain pooring like crazy i swerved to the side of the road but there was a wall of water comming really fast. i grabbed the blanket out from the back that the gf had brought to keep herself warm and we put the windows up and threw the blanket out over the top off the car. luckly the rain was only comming from a single cloud. just as i thought the blanket was going to let go from getting saturated the rain stopped and it was sunny again. at this point we put the top on and decided that one near disaster for the day was enough. of course after the top was on it was beautiful for the rest of the drive. just how it works i guess.

i just got home tonight and the car is running and looking great!
hope everyone had a good memorial day weekend!!! :)

Yeah I have been able to out run some little rain storms in my vette with the top down. But I do not try that often since it is a PITA to put the top up in a hurry.

You caught a break there!:L

I almost never take the top off because it's such a pain to put it back on. You gotta make sure the car is on even ground, line the bolts up, etc... I just want to go inside when I get home so I can watch a baseball game.:L

If you drive fast enough with the windows up, the rain don't get in. It can't fall fast enough to overcome the draft above the car. :D Don't ask how fast.;LOLBy the way 30 seconds to get the top up. :upthumbs
