So i figured i'd share this strange electrical connection. Or maybe its just my imagination.

Last summer i noticed one of the small lamps behind the clock in my radio was out. Then recently almost all went out. I can't see the time at night.

End of last summer, similar time i took out my sunvisors to see if could fix them somehow because they sagged, i ended up just buying replacement ones.

In the fall i replaced my antenna, it wasnt fully retracting. When i did that, i noticed i did not get great reception anymore. Since its been cold, i haven't had a chance to really go check the connections, ground wires, etc.

This past weekend, i finally got a chance to install my new replacement sunvisors. It was easy, i had just been lazy.

Ok, this is the strange part. Now, my radio clock lights are all on except for that first one to the right that was out for a long time AND i'm getting good reception on stations i didnt after i replaced my new antenna.

Can this be attributed to the lighted mirrors in the sunvisor some how???

Vette goblins..

Not sure, late last year my automatic climate control stopped working where I had to turn the thermostat up to 90 and manually turn the fan up to get any heat and the key chime stopped working. When I got the car out of storage and started driving the vette again three weeks ago the climate control and the chime was working and still is today.;shrug

You might have an intermittent short in one of the wires that power the little red courtesy lamps under the header garnish. Just today I replaced my sun visors with plain ones, I no longer wanted the hassle of the lighted ones and my old ones were broken. Few questions:

1) Do you have an FSM?
2) Do you have a SYS light?
3) Have you done a diagnostic check by jumping the pins in the OBD plug?

Let me know and I will try to walk you through your problem as I have a 94 and the FSM, and wiring diagrams are my second language. One thing you could do real quick is to remove the header garnish again and wiggle the harness and see if the problem comes back. There may be a short somehow, it could be a screw in a wire or a wire with insulation cracked that is shorting to the chassis ground.

By the way, a few weeks ago I did away with the old mirror completely and replaced it with a nice auto dimming mirror, this mirror is outstanding. Since all I did was disconnect the plugs, (also the plugs for the vanity mirrors) it is no big deal, you will not get a SYS light. I just used tie cord and tied up the harness real pretty and there it sits until someday someone might want to go back to the original parts.
