sputtered for 10 or so seconds and that was it. timing is my first guess cause ive got spark gas and comp and it lit for a few seconds. i also am not sure of timing after reinstalling intake manifold. gonna take a break and think about it. i dont know..

Had the same problem with mine. With some fuel in the carb it burned the fuel and that was that.
Problem was the pump wasn't strong enough the pump fuel from the fueltank all the way to the front with empty fuellines. Maybe a help.

Greetings Peter

i can see the accellerator pump spraying gas and the inside of the intake manifold is wet. if the time was off a bit would it still fire? ive got 1 at the compression stroke with the time mark in position then i pointed the roter at plug 1 as a start. is this correct? they are fireing when i ground a plug.

Well then it isn't a gas problem :)
I think your starting it without the airfilter on it. Check if your chokevalve is set oke (will not start if it's closed all the way).
It should start if the timing is off a little. If you have a timing light somebody could crank the engine and you can check if it's about right (start with something between 0 and 10 bdtc). And don't pump the gaspedal to much, to much fuel will wetten the sparkplugs and you can wait forever then.
Let us know :)

Btw. be patient, took me some time as well!

Greetings Peter
