and it turns out it is a good thing I pulled the motor to have them go over it....I knew from before that there was gas in the oil and we had changed the oil after getting it warmed up to get it out...well after only a few miles on the motor since the oil change till we pulled it...well, gas in the oil again so one of the things they are changing for me is the fuel pump to a new one.

The first thing Rick (Ricks Speedway Performance, Amherst Ohio) asks me when I go in to check on it, "was this motor running when you took it out of the car?"...I said yes, it actually started and idled real good....well, he says I don't know how and if it was, it was only a matter of a short period of time before it wouldn't have been running.....the bearings, rings (one wall was scored) and just about every other thing in the motor that could be wrong or bad was....

So it is a good thing that we had decided to make the 350 into a 383 stroker (adder price to make it a stroker was only $600) with a nice cam in it....all the valves, pistons, crank, cam, push rods, rods, Edelbrock aluminum water pump will all be new.....going to have the block and heads painted BLACK....things are looking up. I have decided to put the motor back in and drive it this summer as is.....hopefully the steering will hold out....get the motor broke in, then in the fall I am leaning real hard for the tube frame and C5/C4 suspension parts....I am going with the stock exhaust manifolds that were on the car (2") and realize that it won't breathe very well on the exhale....but it will do for now...when I go for broke (literally!) with the tube frame then I am planning on getting headers for it and a nice exhaust, the breathing limitations will be gone......more as it comes along!!!

another project next year is everyone's doings on here.....all of you are giving me the courage to try this....I figure if I get in over my head, that someone here will be able to bail me out with thoughts and pointers....by the way, what I noticed the other day for the first time was the markings in the engine compartment of some numbers....on the firewall. I will take some pictures tomorrow and post them...I have read about the so called numbers but had never saw them before....I will get the pictures and maybe someone can tell me what it means.....

Which car are you going to do it to?

Hmm Fremont, thats a little closer then Ontario.
I have been wanting to see one of those tube frames up close.

Three digit build number. ;)

Also on the rear bulkhead (just in front of the gas-tank) and on the doors (inside the door panels).

Mine is a 500 car. :D

We moved to Norwalk, only about 7 miles or so to Norwalk Dragway......going to do it to the 60. The 64 has everything original in it, 327/365 4 speed coupe...I couldn't bring myself to do that to it....but the 60 didn't have the original motor in it, it had this 350 middle 70's Camaro (by the block number)...how far away are you?

I am 20 miles from the Indiana border in the NW corner of the state.

probably 2 1/2-3 hours away.

my first Vette was a 60 I bought at 19 back in 1967 and it had a 327 in it when I bought.
