I was wondering if anyone had the old Western style rims on their C3 Vette or has a pic of them. I think they were called turbine rims or something of that nature.. and does anyone have an extra set lying around they want to get rid of? When I get my Vette, I want to put a set of these on.

Thanks!

I have this pic, could these be Westerns? If not, what company made these?

Thanks..

Gee....I haven't seen those in a long time. I had a set on my 78 Nova. they lloked cool, but were a real b*tch to keep clean. They had no coating at all and the aluminum was quite porous.

Ah, I thought so. Those are what I had on my 69 while I was rebuilding it.

I gave them to my brother.

He might want to sell them to you.

Here is a pic with them on the car.

Hehehe finally something I know :)

The wheels you are looking at or for would be American Racing Hurricane or Hurricane II wheels.

They are currently out of production and very hard to find lat 60's to lat 70's, I believe if memory serves me correctly the General Lee aka Dukes of Hazzard used them as well as a ton of mopars.. but thats a different story.

They were also term'd aftermarket wheels in the 70's for corvettes off the line.

I currently have a set on my 75 and after researching the heck out of them (trying to identify unknown parts) have decided to hold onto them due to the rarity of them.

Good luck in your search.

Heres a pic of the H's I have currently on the 75

Bill, those look like the rims they used on the '87 Buick Turbo-T.. I was examining them for a while and wondered if it used the same bolt pattern? If so, I can get a set of those pretty easy.. just not cheap. They do look similar to the "General Lee" rims. I always loved those wheels, they look cool on an angle.

I made a 1/25 scale model of the car I want to replicate with the rims I am looking for below..
