What about Monza mufflers?

Anyone has used them? My 87 Coupe needs to have the rear Y-pipe and the mufflers replaced. About 3 years ago I replaced the mufflers using OEM-style ones but they were bad quality and have to be replaced again. My car is feline-free and has the usual bolt-ons. I am on a tight budget since my wife and I are taking a 7 day cruise this summer. I saw a Y-pipe in Mid America catalog with the balance pipe for a pretty good price (I think it is a Walker) and the Monza mufflers cost about $129.00 a pair. :confused
Anyone can give me an opinion? I don't think I will keep this car for more than 3 more years since I plan to upgrade to a C5 in the far future (they are still too expensive in Puerto Rico).

I am currently running a set of monza mufflers , and I am quite pleased with sound . The build quality is acceptable as well as the fit and finish . As far as performance ,,, no problems !

Unfortunatley the exhaust is one of the weakest links in the Corvette, a cat back system is a good start to help with airflow. Lots of people like the Magnaflow catback system and you can get a complete set "delivered" for aprox. $335 depending on your year.

The sound of a magnaflow setup is one I really like personally . I have installed a number of their mufflers on buddies cars etc . Unfortunately I really need something to quiet mine down as it is a bit noisy shall we say at full power . The monza filled the bill for me and provides a tone that does not draw toooo much attention driving through the small country towns around here . There is also no annoying resonance from my setup , but it may not be everyones cup of tea so to speak . I would run magna flows if I could get away with it !

I hear you about the sound factor drawing unwaited attention. I'm in a big city and it is a problem, I can amagine in the smaller country towns. And no renosance sounds good to me. I'm glad Geo chimed in, it's always best to get advice from someone that actually has the set-up in question!!!!

Monza Mufflers

I have Monza Mufflers on my 87 vert and i love the sound of them at idle standing behind it and at WOT it sounds pretty good in my opinion.

I put a Walker y pipe with the balance pipe on mine. Already had the Monza mufflers. Sounds good, not much resonance. Good setup for minimal $.
