What are the symptoms of a low rear-end fluid level? Are there any things to look out for before it totally dies?

Noise, vibration, slippage, etc.? I only check it once a year or so (and I'm sure I'm not alone), so what do I look out for meantimes?

You check it that often?

I know of no such symptoms that would be simply 'reversible' by topping up - in short if you are getting such symptoms due to lack of lubrication - it's probably already too late. If it's not visibly leaking there's probably not too much to worry about.

On the contrary, mon freres, [was forced to take french]. If you have a limited slip rear, it will cause wierd sh-t in your steering feel. It kinda feels like front tires are floating. If you look at your rear tire while sitting your drivers seat and realize just how close you are to the rear pivot point and far from the turning wheel, it makes sense. Those clutches must not bind. GM makes an additive to use with the 90 weight. I've used it and "Lost that sh-tty feeling"
