As I was thinking today and picturing my finished car in my head, I began to wonder how a silver car would look with chrome side pipes and then with the powder coat black. I can honestly say I've never seen a silver anniversary corvette with sidepipes, and I can't seem to find any pistures of one.

I just want to know if the chrome or black side pipes will look good against the siver paint or if I should paint a different color. If I do change the color it will be candy apple red.

Any and all opinions are welcome on this one.

I'd like the black. But that's just me.

*can someone do a photo-chop w/ my pic and place sidepipes on it for a visual?*

Hmmm...

After looking at my sig-pic, I think I may prefer chrome. I think chrome would look nice between shiny aluminum wheels.

Black and silver is the coolest color scheme of all time :)

(and I'll fight anyone who disagrees! :) )

A black car with chrome pipes would look cool, but be harder to keep clean. A silver car with black pipes would look almost as cool, and would be easier to keep clean, which would probably mean that it would look cooler on a day-to-day basis, not only right after you finish washing it.

Of course, you could also do the two-tone (silver top, black bottom) and add chrome pipes, which would look coolest of all. Keeping it clean would still be an issue, though.

If I was going to paint a Shark in the 'non-correct' color, it'd be '80-'81 Yellow, or Silver, but not GM/Chevy Silver, either.
What do you think about the Silver Mettalic that Richard Childress Racing has painted the #29 Winston Cup car, driven by Kevin Harvick, the last 2 years?
It practically 'glows' in the day-light; it must have a very high metallic-content in it.
Find a pix from the '02 season; the hood, fenders, and A, B, and C-pillars are painted this color.....
Paint a Shark this color, chrome the aluminum (or after-market) wheels, and add Black powder-coated side-pipes (watch your female-friend's legs upon entry/exit), and you're there, dude.....

I like the looks of that. I was planning to just go solid silver and then put black pipes on. I think a set of black pipes would be a little cheeper to get a hold of, plus i would rather wipe down a side pipe every now and then than have to wash a half black car every 2 or 3 days. Besides my current car is black and so is the family truck. I really am kind of tired of black vehicles.
