since I don't know what I am looking at and haven't got the body off, I can't compare the photo to what I have sitting in the garage right now....I was planning on putting the Myers front end in the car and if this would work, seems to me that there is already a number of upgrades to the front and rear suspension that would make this worth the effort of shipping it to Ohio....what do you think? It says that it was for a '60 vette.....so that makes it even more appealing.....how deep would I be getting into this? With the Myers set up they provide a kit that includes everything for the front end including a new master cylinder for the new front disc brakes, this set up has front and rear disc brakes....comments?????

nope did not know that.....that is exactly what I needed to know.....thanks....I will pass....I know I will have enough problems and issues with a correct frame and getting things to work, but not having the right frame to start with...perhaps that is what he found out as well.....that things just won't go together easily.....and I am for EASILY GOING TOGETHER....of course if I could have all of you over at my house throughout the winter I would be willing to try anything......thanks again...Herb

Herb,
I have seen that chassis before, but I do not remeber who builds it. The front suspension appears to be Mustang II in nature and the rear suspension is going to be a very poor handling. It is more suited for straight line accleration then carving up the corners. The trans X member also appears to be welded in place, which will make you have to pull the engine if you ever have to do a clutch job! I would think very carefully before pulling the trigger on this chassis. I think that without more info on it, you could be buying a pig-in-a-poke.

What is a pig in a poke?

Here is a picture of Johns Frame ,I would have posted one of mine but i have no straight on shots

I know on my 62 we are running the same rear wheels and back space and on my car I could not fit a bigger tire with out rubbing,I dont think the ebay frame you have a link to will take a C1 body with out modifying the rear tubs.

I am not slamming the product but when you compare it to a sr111 it looks like is missing some metal

Actually the link to Johns frame isnt working Here is mine

What we are trying to see here is te distance from the body mount to the center of the tire. I can measure mine tonight after work. But like I said mine just barely fit so from the pictures of the ebay frame I dont think a C1 body would fit with out modifications to it. I would check with the seller if he ever had a body on the car and how it fit

Good Luck

A Polk is a Sack!! If you buy a pig in a Polk, He is in a Sack and you can't see what your Getting!! :upthumbs junk!!

Jesse is exactly correct. It means buying something whithout being able to see it. A polk or poke is what we southerners call a burlap bag. I sometimes forget you Yankees may not understand what we are saying, but that's OK, because I usually dont fully understand "youse Guys" when you talk either! :D

Here is a link to a head-on shot of my 59 chassis, and you will see that Larry is correct, it appears that the frame rails have been moved in, and you would have to "tub" the wheelwells to use this frame. below that is a link to a pic of the frame for my 60, so you can see what an original chassis looks like.

I see what everyone means about the narrowed chasis and the need to tub the back of the car which I know will get into the area normally occupied by the soft top....but beyond that, does the frame look like a 60 corvette frame or is it really some other type of frame that has been modified to fit a corvette.....what do you think about that ?????

Herb,
This clearly started out as a C1 frame. It has had the front section of the frame cut off and a new section welded in to accomodate the new front suspension. The rear section has been cut off, the frame rails moved together and then welded back to the original frame. Without knowing the qualifications of the person who did the work, I would run like the wind from this frame! You could end up with a frame which would not go down the road straight or even break. I would not even consider buying such a home-made setup such as this unless I knew the builder personally, and was confident of his skill level.
