What does lifetime warranty exactly mean?

Does that mean that if the part breaks at anytime, I can bring it back and they'll give me a new one?

Could that be true because they're banking on people not keeping their receipts and therefore couldn't return the broken part for a new one? Kind of like rebates, people forget about them...

when it breaks its lifetime is over:L

bossvette,

just read that you have a TPI 383. How is she?

Ive had good luck with lifetime warrantees. They keep my name in a database and if the part breaks down they swap it for a new one no questions asked.I think THEY expect that you will forget you have replaced the part before or you will sell the car before the part fails.

Runs like a Vette should, this photo should clear it up

:L :L here is a link to some photos of
TPI project they are not sorted out yet and here is the TKO Project

the first year I had the car with the l-48 it would not cruise at 35-40 in 4th gear without protesting. With the TPI even in 5th (od) it will pull smoothly at that speed.

I am running a isky Hyd roller for TPI not real radical but more for Torque the SLP runners have been shortened and I have Holley electronics so it doesn't fall on it face at 4500 like some say the TPIs do (there is a photo of the runners in there somewhere)

it will be put on the dyno at
Cruise-fest
click on the links and enjoy

Something I should have added to the above post the Overdrive trans and the TPI are made for each other, don't do one without the other.

Back to the subject... lifetime warrantees

Got an alternator from O'Reilly's a few years back with a lifetime warranty. Have taken back two (so far) with no questions asked. I really do think they rely on folks losing their receipts, or selling the car every few years. They did say I will always need the ORIGINAL receipt, not the one for the replacement.

Limited Lifetime Warranty

I wonder about this one.

Warranted to have a limited lifetime?

But those are blue Craig! Are you hurtin' for some? :L

Uh oh, Ken is tired of everyone being so hard on him!:L:L:L

BTW they come in a variety of colorsNutz and if you mount them like I did they will sway in the breeze:eek

Joe Vette Drive takes expensive worn out Vette widget back to the parts store. It has a Lifetime warranty.

Joe: I need to replace this widget on the lifetime warranty.

Counterman: Sorry dude, this part is obviously dead, so the life time warranty doesn't apply.
