Here is a question for all you Sherlock Holmes's out there. I owned a '59 from 1962 to 1973. I have tried to track it down for years with no results. the vin is J59s109087. I tried tracking it through the California DMV, but they only go back so far, and won't give out much info, as scumbags were tracking down cars so they could steal them, or they were after the owner for other reasons than to steal the car. I have put adds in the NCRS driveline, no luck. The '59 registry shows me as the owner, so don't go there. I sold it in San Mateo, Ca. The guy I sold it to was originally from Canada, and he mentioned that he might take it up there, because he could sell it for a lot more than he paid me. Maybe someone knows of this car? Thanks, Vette61

Lots of luck. Maybe some of our Canadian members can offer some help in tracking a vin in Canada.

Welcome to the CAC,
Tom

Hi vette61,

Yep, I totally understand your pain regarding how it seems these cars just seem to vanish into thin air. The funny thing is, even the ones I can get a lead on to post on the Registry get shuffled around quicker than you can possibly imagine- for example, '59 #8878 has been one that's changed hands quicker than a $1 bill. It is simply astounding to see the frequency involved with where these cars move to.

I will definitely keep my eyes peeled, and let you know if I get any other updates regarding that car. If there's anything people know about me, it's that I'm always watching out for these cars.

Regards,

Jim
