A short piece of hose with a fitting with two different threads. It's seems to come out of the batt compartment, and ends just in front of the fuel tank, above my left muffler. If the purpose is to evacuate the batt comp., then why the fitting with the threads?

EDIT: Cant be out of the batt compartment when I think of it, it is further back in the storage area. Some kind of drain for the vent system?

I have a 75 convertible and I don't have anything like that on mine. I'm guessing its something aftermarket. If your car was built for export to Sweden it might be something to meet your country's standards at the time.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

The car was imported from Florida, so it's no special stuff for Sweden. There are also a bunch of cables (tail lights I think) that comes out through the same rubber grommet, just above the hose in the pic.

Hi-

My car doesn't have the strange feature either, sorry.

I note that you are from Eksjo. We had lunch there about a month ago at a restaurant on Norra Stargatan right where it crosses the Eksjoan river in the old part of town. Beautiful place!

We were staying with very good friends in Aseda.

Really??!!? I live on that street, just 75 meters from there, and I have my Vette in a garage in the back yard of the house just across the street from that restaurant!

If it cones from the batt compartment, maybe its for exhaust of battery gasses (?)

Yes that was my first idea too, but that would not explain why there is a threaded brass fitting at the end of the hose...? I'll have to get back to my garage and look at the thing again.
