The rear spring in my 95 convertible is delaminating. I have found two different spring rates for a 95, one is for the base, and the other is for a Z51 package, I believe. I am sure that my car is the base suspension, but read somewhere that the convertible had the higher rate spring due to the additional weight. Can anyone verify or deny this? Thanks.

There are no 95 Convertibles with Z51

There were two rear springs for Convertibles, base (for cars with std. shocks) and FX3 (for cars with Selective Ride Shocks). If your car has a knob on the center console market "tour", "sport", "perf" then your car has SRC.

The spring used on cars with SRC had a lower rate.

The spring codes are:

Base: RCA
FX3: but it may be stamped 22112254

it is unlikely that Chevrolet still has springs available but it might. If not, you have the aftermarket or dismantlers as sources.
