I'm taking it in to my favorite transmission guy for a tune up and gasket change as well as a TV adjustment and I figure I might as well have him throw a new shift kit in it.....I'm figuring just a normal B&M Kit for a 350 will fit the bill.Do I even need one with 41,700 miles on it?.I will of course have the mechanic take it for a test beat and get his opinion, but yours will help. The engine is NOT the L88......

Save yourself the money and get a TRANS-GO kit. B&M is good, but IMHO they are overpriced.
You really don't need one unless you're running it hard- by that I'm talking frequent WOT from a slow roll. But on the other side of that coin, having it shift a little quicker/more firm will help the trans last longer. I've been using the Trans-Go kits for several years and never had any problems. I built a TH 350 about 10 years ago for a guy that races a 67 GTO with a 455 every weekend. He's running slick and has yet to break it. (now that I said that it'll probably end up as scrap next week)

I put a B&M shift kit in a 75 Nova that had a 350, and really loved it.That was back in '81 when I was in high school......Trans-go hu?.....Well...I'll be armed with more info when I take it in on Monday....Thanks!

BTW Tim....That's one FINE '69 !....I think that's where the term" Lovette "was invented. A beautiful muscle car you have there.

Well , WHAT A DIFFERENCE! The wheels chirp during all shifts under heavy foot activity....The B&M Shift Kit was the poison I picked. The car has smoothed out considerably now also. The clunk from Park to Drive is gone! The clunk from Drive to Reverse is gone also. It's a different car!...When I floor it at 55 mph, she'll shift at around 65-70 and CHIRP THE WHEELS!!!.....I love that...Just like the old days in my '75 Nova with the 350 , Corvette high compression heads and manifold, headers, and Keystone Classic rims......I'm Happy again.:upthumbs
