I Know That Changing the heat of the engine to munipulate the computer, Can run more Fuel and possibly A little more timing. BUT Why are there so many to choose from.Ther are 192 deg.-for stock 180, 172 & finallyA 160 deg. thermostat. I geuss, my Question is, What is the best Thermostat for the LS6 engine? Any input Would be very Knowlegable. Thanks Rick
.

I'm very pleased with the Vinci 178 degree thermostat from Vinci. Its a quality piece and worth the 90 dollars they charge.

I have this in my car and it generally keeps the car in the 185-187 coolant range.

It basically keeps the car in the zone where the most power is produced..

THERMOSTAT...?

Do you think, that there is a little power difference. Or just a temp. difference, to save engine wear?

My thought would be, the best thermostat would be one that "failed" in the open position.
