I am about to do my wires and plugs but I hear its an annoying job with out a special swrivil socket by snap-on. Can anyone provide more info on this and tell me how hard it is too do without it?

easiest way is to use a swivel impact spark plug socket and an impact extension

I even use an air wratchet to pull the plugs;)
I re-install them starting them by hand, turning the air pressure way down so the air just snugs the plug and tighten them by hand

no need for it to be snap-on although mine are :D

I just changed mine a few weeks ago. I, too, had read that I would need the double swivel socket but took a go without it. All but one were fairly no-brainer with my good old single swivel craftsman extension and combinations of length extentions. The thumb ratchet came in really handy putting them back in. The key for me was patience.

A plug job on a C5 is nothing. Try it on an F-body or my 95 Monte Carlo, now those are a royal pain in the watoosy!

you don't NEED special tools
it just makes it easier :thumb
