what type of octane boost additive

looking to buy some octane boost along with a lead additive
i have a 427 tri power car -wanted to keep the timming stock or alittle advance but didnt want the ping-what are you using as a additive or are you just buying race fuel

Forget the octane-booster additives - they're LOADED with alcohol, and all they do is eat the plating off the inside of your float bowls, then attract moisture and corrode the un-plated zinc surfaces. Work with timing and/or race gas blends with pump premium; there's no free lunch in this area.

agree....... maybe jetting your carb(s) a touch richer would also help? more gas = cooler chamber temps.
