what type of oil??

I have a 74' roadster with 350 195hp..my wrench recomended using HD30 std. 30 wt. oil. Mostly because I only drive in warm weather. Any reason not to use 30 wt.?

Use what your owners manual recommends. There's no advantage to using a single weight oil, despite what your 'wrench' tells you.

And please don't fall for the BS marketing crap about synthetics.

For a stock engine any good quality 10w30, or if it is worn a good 10w40. You want the multi-weight so that the oil will flow quickly at start-up and get to the wear points as quickly as possible.
