Today in my local paper there were 3 05 C6's for sale and one was a vert. In my area l started seeing them from the start and then it quieted down. Most of my buddies were very excited when it came out and now they just talk about what are they going to do next to change the nose from a camaro or E.T. look front?

I'm excited about the new engine Z06 but l'm still questioning the direction that GM went.

I just read an article that they are going or at least thinking about changing the nose which the article claims is the cheapest thing to do.

The article was in this issue of "Magazine Corvette".

My buddy took an auto, coupe 05 to auction 3 weeks ago, it was a trade in on a Mercedes and just about got his money back. He said that there was very little interest in it.

...the local paper here had some too - in the mid 40's too :eek

E.T. Go Home!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure once they change the nose, the C6 vette will fly out of the dealers lots.

My gut feeling is that when people buy or lease a vette they expect to draw a lot of attention when they drive or pull up any where. It's not happening and that might be hurting the C6. The mechanic's are awesome but the looks is definitely geared for the European markets.

Also when the C6 was released dealers put their own special mark up on top of the mrsp. This didn't help, we are not talking about a limited edition vehicle.

But to see so many C6's for sale it cause's me to wonder why, l hope it's just economic's.

Alan

It's probably economics. Or maybe some are even getting rid of their C6's for the new Z06. Call the sellers up and ask them why they're selling; won't cost you much. I'm curious to know myself.

Never get the truth!!!!!!!!!

Hi Edmond

I thought about doing just that but from my experience they almost never tell the truth.

Boy l would hate to have plunked down all that money to see it depreciate so fast. It would be worse if you had to pay it out. This is nothing but a toy and toy's must be paid at once. That is if you cannot get the 1% financing.

Alan

p.s. The C5 is starting to look better all over again.

Alan,

I would also hate to have put so much money into it just to see it depreciate so fast. Then again, that happens with a lot of things so that's why I usually keep things until they break. When it breaks, I fix it and use it until it breaks again.:L

Maybe some of those people aren't really Corvette people. They just read about the C6 in a magazine or something like that and since it got good reviews, they took a chance. After driving for a few months, it wasn't for them so they're selling.

I agree that the C5's are looking better. The performance and refinement you get for your dollar is almost unequalled with the C5. Wish I could afford one but I can't. I'm just going to slowly build up my '88. Plus, I like the C4 styling.

I think it's probably economics. I've had my C6 4 months, and still draw lots of positive attention. Even more important, I love the looks. Along with the awesome performance, it's a great ride.

Changing the nose? Do you mean bringing back the hideaway headlamps? That would be expensive plus the great light thrown forward by the fixed lamps would be history.

Some people do not like change, that is why the Porsche 911 is worshipped :eyerole by some, still looks the same as 1962. But, for people who like progress the Corvette is the way to go :D . I think the reason C6 are selling low is the economy, as we know it is the worst economy in 50 years :crazy thanks to Bush. If Bush would stop making tax cuts everyone could have a C6, maybe two ;LOL . Think about that the next time you vote (which everybody should do unless you are a right winger!!) ;) . :pat

Gee, I thought we workers (and unions) were to blame. NOT! :w

Thank you for your opinion, the reason I Highlighted a portion of you response is to invite you to the Edge Forums to debate politics or lack there of we prefer to keep the discussion in the Tech portion more Technical in nature and the General Discussions in each generation general in nature. Nose Change~!!!!!!!!!!

To change the nose is a cheap deal but the lights have to stay in order to sell it in Europe.

This week there were no 05's for sale and l feel much better for the C6 is really an awesome machine under the skin.

Alan

They should try the employee discount for the Vette buyers as well.

GerryLP:cool

I also noticed this happening with C6 vettes selling/not selling. The soon to be on the streets Zo6 500 horses I believe are in great demand. People may be holding out for this one. I ordered my vette from Les Standford in Michigan just for the fact that hes 2nd in highest allocations in the usa. I was going to order and wait for the new ZO6 but he said he had 125 allocations with 150 ordered. Now some of course will drop out due to financing etc. He told me he wouldnt be able to get me one, but could for 2007. Didnt want to wait that long, so I went for the C6. The cost on the ZO6 is not that much more as well. I believe, in my opinion, that the ZO6 is the reason. I was even planning on keeping my C6 for a year then trading it in for a slightly used ZO6. I could also see people really overextending themselves with payments on a new vette because they want one so bad. Then reality hits and the payments are to much to handle, so they have to sell quick and possibly for alot less. May be wrong, hard to say. C6 is still, very much, an attention getter at least from my experiences. Its fun at first when so much attention is directed towards your car, but gets kind of annoying after a month or so of it.

employee discount is gimmick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can do better with the normal discounts after cutting through the bull!

That's why GM's stock is moving up and all the other car companies are following.

For such a great country we really have a lot of non savy people out there.
