Whats my Engine

I have a bit of a problem. Last year I bought a 76. Since then it has had a frame on restoration. We have discovered it does not have the original engine. My mechanic thinks its out of a 69. I have looked on the info part of the forum and the number 3970014 on the back left of the engine is a match for a 72. The number on the front right of the engine T0411CHY does not seem to corelate with anything in the CAC data that I can find. So does anybody have an idea of what this is without tearing it apart? Thanks.

You need to get yourself a 69 427 3x2 or a 70 454

The good news is is that is is a good seasoned block to start from.....Build that puppy up....My little 350 pumps out 420 hp and 441 ft/lbs....

If the oil dipstick is on passenger side, the block is probably MY1977 or newer.

The dipstick is on the left.
