OK, I shouldn't, but I do. I drive my Corvettes in Chicago winters.

Is any maintence required on C6 chrome wheels driven in the winter? Will salty streets corrode the chrome?

Do polished wheels need any polishing or waxing during the summer or the winter?

I'm trying to get a wheel that does not need any special maintenance other than regular car washing.

winter

I drive my Corvettes in Chicago winters too, and so far it looks to me like regular washes are sufficient to keep the polished aluminum wheels looking good. But then, I just clean the outsides and don't worry that the relatively invisible insides of the wheels get dirty and stay dirty. It's a car after all.

i wouldnt dare drive my VETTE in chicago during the winter, the salt & potholes would put lots of wear & tear on a car.
