wheel size change?

Has anybody went from the 15in to 16 or larger wheel size. I have a 77 model I sure would like to upgrade to a larger wheel due to the lack of selection of tires in the 15 inch class. Running 255/60/15 and cant find any H or higher tires for it. Looking for some info and good wheel selection choice. Input appreciated.

This topic has been covered quite a bit. Try searching the forum for one of the previous posts. A wheel adapter may have to go on because of the large calipers and backspacing issues, etc. I'm still on my quest to find a wheel I like from the old days, likely made by Bart or someone similar.--Bullitt

I have 17" Ralleys on my 71. They're made by Wheel Vintiques. Tires are Nitto 255/50-VR17. Probably going with Bridgestone Potenza RE730 in 255/50-ZR17 when the Nittos wear out.

The 17" Ralleys are $168 ea from summit, fully chromed. I painted the center silver to resemble stock ralleys. The stock center cap fit fine.
