wheel size mystery.......to me

The specs on my 85 say my front wheel is 16 x 8.5 and back is 16 x 9.5...............How do I replace them with Cragar SS rims that are a standard 16 x 8 or 17 x 8, 17 x 9.......what will work (well) on my car ? Any help would be appreciated....

The standard 85 wheels were 16x8.5x32mm. The Z51 wheels were 16x9.5x38mm. If you have the skinnier front wheels them someone has changed them out for some reason (better tracking or whatever).

When replacing the wheels, you'll want a wheel rim width that will support the tires you plan to use. And, you should make sure the offset is correct for the car.

The ZR1 11" rear will fit without need for any adaptors. It has a 36mm offset. I'd recommend a wheel that has 36-38mm offset and enough width to support the tires you have or plan to buy.

My rims are the same, I simply misread the specs. It is a Z51 package so I do have the 16 x 9.5.
I am just trying to get Cragars SS's to fit. Thanks for the response. Anyone who has made this swap please let me know or send pic's
