I don't want to use spacers, but it appears that I have slight rubbing on the driver side rear. I think if I came out (at the most) 1/4 inch I would be more than clear and safe. I think it rubbed the exhaust on the passenger side but that was an easy fix. What sizes has anyone used and what was your experience with them? I seem to remember having spacers on a car before and there was something I disliked about them, but I can't remember why I had to not use them. I couldn't find any posts that dealt with it specifically. My 81 is getting closer to being ready to roll for the summer now dealing with some nagging problems. Anyone else got their sping projects close to being done?

Spacers dramatically increase the shear and bending loads on wheel studs; they're not safe.

Thanks for the advice. I examined them without the spacers and I don't see any rubbing. I think the rubbing I saw in the wheelwells must have been before I rebuilt the rear end; basically when the rear wheels were leaning in from the top before the rebuild.
