I had my driving selector set on the track mode. After I had stopped turned off the ignition and started again my driving mode was in tour mode. I changed the selector back to track and when I stopped and turned off the ignition and then restarted again it was in tour mode. I thought maybe it went to tour from track as a default but when I looked in the owners manual it didn't say anything about doing that. Any body had this experience before and what did you do? thanks

I doubt the Generals' legal department would stand for anything except nanny mode at start-up, and that's a good thing. I'm sure the default is touring as it has been in the past.

Mine does the same. Just what the factory had planned, I would imagine. I don't like the harsh ride of the track mode unless I am doing some serious driving. Usually in the morning on the way to work at 04:00 zipping along at, well let's just say the Nevada Highway Patrol has been trying to catch me for a few years now. I mix up my times when I leave for work so I don't get into too much of a routine for them to figure Still pale in comparison to Six Shooter. That man KNOWS the limits to his Vette

You don't mention which trim level / options you have.

Mine stays in sport with sport mode tach in the center cluster regardless which driving mode I select. That's programmable in the settings mode. You can either have the instrument display change with the driving mode selected or you can chose the display to stay the same regardless the driving mode you select. Another part, I'm pretty sure is tied to the memory seats system. If you save your settings in sport, that becomes default when you hit the memory seat button during your start up procedure. At least that's how my 2lt Z51 (2015) works.

It's getting to where GM ought to offer a Phd level school for all you ever wanted to know about operating and tweaking your Stingray...

I agree about the need for a PhD on these things. I have had my 14 for a year next week. I don't think I have explored anywhere near the entire list of software options, they are truly mind boggling. Going to have to make mine into the dealer next for the dreaded "black screen" when in reverse and then screen starts a dance routine that is truly annoying, I have to open the cubby behind the screen to keep from getting distracted by the video going nuts. The price of technology. My wife and I often reminisce about the good old days before computers. We both worked for the local telephone company (27 years for me and 35 for her and still going, she was my dispatcher). All of our records for customers were on "hard cards" that had the data entered in pencil. When something changed and needed changed back, if you looked real hard you could read the erased data and find the mistake or whatever you were looking for. No crashed hard drives and no software or firmware upgrades, and the cards NEVER got lost.
