When is best time to put brake lines on?

Getting ready to either put the motor on the frame or the brake lines....but don't know which is the best to do first. So I would be grateful to hear from those of you who have done this before, which should go on the frame first?

Herb I would say both,

I had all of my soft lines in place , then the motor in place, and then the body with the master in place. I then roughed in the lines from the master to the front lines chosing wher to place the tee. then I roughed in the rear line from the master to a union for the rear. then pulled the body and the motor and routed the rest of the lines.

Chose a place where you can actually clamp them down with out them rubbing on something.

Best of luck are you ging to custom make the lines or do you have a kit already

I bought already made up stainless steel lines. I am planning on dropping two stainless steel braid wrapped hoses to the rear brakes, at least that is my plan.

I also bought a pre bent line kit for the truck and installed them all before setting in the engine. Glad I did too as I had to tweek several of the bends. It was a piece of cake with no engine in the way.

If anyone has some photos of brake lines that have been run on the frame AFTER the frame was painted and the new brake lines attached, if you could post those that would also be helpful.....

I did brake lines before motor on my stock C1. Just seemed a bit easier to run the lines around the front cross member before the motor went in. I may have a pic at work. If I find it I'll post it tomorrow.
