strange questions i know, but, i just bought my first vette, a 73 t-top car. i've read posts that people have found their t-top covers in various places of the vehicles, but none specify where that might be. any ideas where i should look, other than the obvious?

I think the possibilities are very limited to the obvious--either one of the storage bins or behind the seats. I doubt that you are alone as after 32 years unattached parts tend to disappear. I have an original set, black, that I do not use as I have a luggage rack with a set of t-top brackets. One of the covers has the metal snap closure the other doesn't but both are fully functional. They are yours if you want them just send me a private message with a shipping address and I will get them in a box to you. Can't beat the price!

I think I saw yours for sale on eBay just before you bought the car.:D

Seriously, if they're not behind the seats- they're gone.

i don't think it was on ebay, although anything is possible. it was from a Corvette dealer in Denver, they had it on consignment. i'll check behind the seats, i just wanted to make sure i didn't miss anything. i heard people say "you'll never guess where i found my t top covers..." etc. man, i sure do love that car though. it just fits like a glove. my wife and i bought a new c4 in 1995, i drove it home from the dealer, and hated it. i handed her the keys and told her she could have it. everything rattled, shook, the fit and finish of all the interior parts was about on par with a 1984 camaro. i drove a 73 for the first time a few years back, and couldn't believe how tight and solid it was. i'm very impressed.

Who has the t-top brackets??? Summit...?? I have the rack and do not use my covers....I usually set them in the garage if I stay close to home.

Go to www.vettespecialties.com. They sell reproduction t-top brackets made of stainless steel. I think I paid $225 which is probably less than a old pair would cost if you could find them, and in SS they will outlast me. They are one of the best and most responsive suppliers I have ever dealt with.
