Looks like I'm definetly going to need the Chevy Shop manual for my 89, anyone have a link to a good deal?

Thanks

Go to Ebay and search on "Corvette Service Manuals". You will get a ton of hits.

I recommend only the original GM manuals with the red covers. They are extremely detailed and comprehensive.

There are bunches of shop manuals being sold to make room for new manuals on CD in most shops.
The Corvette manual is 2 books, sells for $75 used in good shape and is well worth the price. They walk you thru every diagnosis and process and end with a conclusion that you can use to order your part. Its very clear. I've heard the CD are available which is nice so you can print out the pages you;re working on and head to the garage...either way, a manual is a must have for a c4-5 or ANY VETTE

Make sure to get the CD that is searchable. You can't do that with a book.

you can't ?

huh...maybe my books different. it has an index that directs me to any subjuect or section. Pages are numbered too.:chuckle I heard people got by with just books for 20 or 30 yrs...maybe longer using the Table of Contents & Index.;squint:

Nothing wrong with the book. But the right CD is word searchable. Meaning you type in a word, and it finds where that word is written in the entire document. The book won't do that. It makes finding sections easier as they have it all split up all over the book.

I have the C4 parts catalog on CD as a PDF file. But you can't search it. Makes it a pain going page by page trying to find something where as with those FSM on CD's, I could have just typed in the word I was looking for and it would find it for me.
