Happy new year to all of you !

I´m planning to install a shift light to my 66 C2. Still not sure where to install it. Does anyone has pictures that I can use as an example ? Does anyone can recommend me a good shift light ?

Regards,
Joerg

I never quite understood a shift light on a car but that is besides the point right

is it a track car? or are you trying to keep it hidden stock appearing. I have seen alot of C2 with modern gauges in them maybee they have a tach with a light built in

I have 4.11 axis, means the current configuration is more for the 1/4 mile. My engine speed is 3500 rpm at 60 miles. I do not want to go above 6000 rpm, therefore a shift light will give an early warning. Believe me, in the first gear, the engine speed is super fast at the limit.

Reason why I´m asking is the following: Since my dash board is not original and I want to reinstall original gauges whenever I find some at a good price, the installation should be somehow in an area where I do not have too much bothering impact.

Jörg

Jörg,
You are aware that the original tach is a mechanical unit driven from the distributor. If you go back to the original unit, there isn't a ready means to hook a light to it unless your shift light runs off another sensor (like an electronic tach hooked to the coil). You might try the old school way of orienting the tach install so that the needle is pointing straight up when it's at your shift point. Then you don't have to read the number, just see the needle pointing straight up and shift.
