So today was a long day. I was coming home from a car show about 40 miles away and I had noticed at lower speeds I could hear a clicking sounded like a rock in a tire, no biggie. So I got on the highway to get home and noticed the car was pulling hard to the left. Did not do that before I was puzzled by this, I had not hit anything recently. So I drove it some trying to figure out what is going on. Then I got a really bad vibration all of a sudden at about 65. I got off the road in less than 5 seconds under hard braking. The LF tire had come off the rim and the sidewall was shredded to picecs. Luckly, it did not totally come apart and rip off the fender which would mean hood replacement=$$$$$. Well, I was planning on getting new tires and wheels next year but looks like I will be doing this sooner
.SO take a word of advice if you feel ANYTHING odd, STOP immediately don't write it off. I got very lucky, I could have got hurt/killled or someone else, the car could be totaled, or damaged. It did not even hurt the wheel, I had on it, rode on the rubber so I got very lucky. NO spare as mine does not hold air. So I called my brother who brought tools and an stock wheel and tire I had laying around so I could get it home. Worked out ok. Stay safe out there.
